Ryan was the third lawyer that I hired in my attempt to resolve a very messy and complicated case and from the first day that I spoke with him, I knew he would be my final lawyer and the one to get the job done. Ryan is a phenomenal attorney, advocate, counselor, and person. He carefully examines the case through a variety of angles, never jumping to conclusions or acting out of panic or emotion, but always taking calculated steps to help advance you towards your best possible outcome. Ryan was always honest and transparent with me but never discouraged me or took away the hope I had for myself and my children. He always kept me updated, always gave me his clear opinion, and always listened with compassion as I recounted past events, vented current frustrations, or expressed fears of the future. In the end, through his knowledge, research, relationship building with other attorneys involved in the case, and very skillful negotiating, he was able to achieve that “best possible outcome” that most would’ve thought impossible. I highly recommend Cliff Petroske to handle your divorce. I had a highly contentious 4-year long divorce with my ex-wife mainly over custody issues. When we’re in the courtroom, as the client we naturally focus on the theater in the courtroom between opposing counsel (sadly, divorce proceedings in New York are still partially theater as New York has not updated its divorce laws like many other states). But Cliff would rise above the theater with a strategic and technical legal focus, which in my case the key (and successful) legal strategy was to have an attorney for the children appointed twice in the case to award me joint custody. Cliff had the strategic insight and did not lower himself to the petty grandstanding by the other side. Cliff is also well respected by the Suffolk County family law court, which is helpful. With respect to legal fees, Cliff was very transparent and cost-efficient: He knew the legal costs that were required to win this battle, and he properly advised on the legal costs that would be a waste of resources. As the client, I sometimes pushed to pursue legal strategies that I thought just and fair, but Cliff properly advised that the system is not just and fair (again, sadly we live in New York that has not updated its divorce laws and for example it would be highly unlikely this type of divorce battle would ever be witnessed in Florida or many other states). Bottom Line: Cliff is a great choice for a divorce lawyer in Suffolk County.
Going through a divorce is a brutal process. Choose your representation wisely. My experience was made a lot easier with Cliff Petroske. Everyone in this office has been helpful, polite, respectful, and sympathetic. I was able to avoid going to trial, and achieved the best result possible.
